18 DAYS 4X4 CAMPING TOUR THROUGH SOUTH AFRICA, BOTSWANA AND ZIMBABWE
Day 1 Johannesburg - Spoelklippies
Pick up your 4x4 rental vehicle and drive from Johannesburg to Spoelklippies, our 4x4 training ground, where you will spend the night. Afternoon at leisure. You can go horse riding, trout fishing, 4x4 driving, or many other activities. Your stay includes camp site and breakfast.
Day 2 Spoelklippies 4x4 training Farm
After breakfast your 4x4 instructor will take you on a full morning of training. After lunch you will do a 4x4 trail through the mountains at Spoelklippies. Spend the night here again.
Day 3 Tuli Block
Today drive from Spoelklippies to Tuli Block, just over the Botswana border in the Northern Tuli Game Reserve. Spend the night at Tuli Block's campsite. Here you can join the morning or evening game drives or maybe even go on a game walk (optional).
Day 4 Tuli Block
Spend the whole day relaxing at Tuli Block. Alternatively, spend the day spotting game on the game drives.
Day 5 Nata Lodge
This morning, head for Nata Lodge and travel north towards the Botswana border with Zambia and Zimbabwe, near Kazungula. At Nata Lodge it is possible to take a guided tour to the Makgadikgadi Pans National Park. Spend the night at Nata Lodge.
Day 6 Kasane
From Nata Lodge, drive to Kasane, where you will spend the night at Kubu Lodge. We recommend going on an afternoon boat safari on the Chobe River (optional).
Day 7 Victoria Falls
This morning leave Kasane and pass the border at Kazungula into neighboring Zimbabwe, where you will drive to our Guesthouse and spend the night.
Day 8 Victoria Falls
Spend the whole day relaxing in and around our Guesthouse or explore the many beautiful lookouts of the Victoria Falls.
Day 9 Chobe National Park
After doing some last shopping in Kasane, drive through the Chobe National Park and spend the night at Ihaha campsite or similar. From now on the real adventure starts! Tonight spend the night in your vehicle amongst Africa's wild animals.
Day 10 Chobe National Park - Savuti
Today drive to the Savuti campsite. Your stay is self-catered; every spot has its own BBQ. All roads are dirt roads, you will definitely see a lot of wild animals and you will need a good compass.
Day 11 and 12 Moremi Wildlife Reserve
Today depart Chobe National Park and drive to the Moremi Wildlife Reserve, where you will spend the night on the Xakanaxa campsite or similar. The following day, drive through to Third Bridge Camp or similar - basic accommodation with a simple toilet and a cold shower.
Day 13 Maun
Departing the Moremi Game Reserve via South Gate today, you will see some exciting sights during your drive. Spend the night at a campsite in Maun, where you can enjoy a hot shower!
Day 14 Maun
Spend the whole day in Maun. You will have the opportunity to book a day trip into the Okavango Delta or to take a scenic flight over the Delta.
Day 15 Makgadikgadi Pans National Park
Today drive to Makgadikgadi Pans. You will have plenty of time to drive through the Park, or maybe visit the Nxai Pan National Park, before entering your campsite.
Day 16 Serowe
This morning drive along the northern part of the Central Kalahari Game Reserve to Serowe. 30 km before Serowe you will see the Rhino Sanctuary on your right hand side. Stay the night at the campsite there.
Day 17 Marakele National Park
Depart Botswana via the border post of Martins Drift. Driving through Elisras, head for the Marakele National Park. Sleep in one of the safari tents in the park. Please note that this is self-catered accommodation and there is no shopping available in the camp.
Day 18 Johannesburg
After your last safari in the morning, drive to Pilanesberg National Park or perhaps Sun City. Later in the afternoon, return your rental vehicle and check in for your departure flight.
