14 DAYS BUSH & BEACH TOUR THROUGH SOUTH AFRICA AND MOZAMBIQUE

Day 1 & 2 Johannesburg / Blydepoort – Aventura Blydepoort
Arrive at O.R. Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg. A representative of KEA Campers will meet you on arrival and will assist with the transfer to the depot where you will collect your rental 4x4 vehicle with camping equipment.

Today you will drive from Johannesburg to Blydepoort in Mpumalanga. Aventura Blydepoort is situated on the Panorama Escarpment, 50 Kilometres from Graskop and 160 kilometres from Nelspruit. The spectacular Drakensberg Mountains and breathtaking scenery of the Blyderiver Canyon surround the resort. Visits to God's Window, Bourke's Luck Potholes, Three Rondavels and Pilgrims Rest, are just a few of the things to do in this area.

Spend two nights at Aventura Blydepoort campsite on a self-catering basis. A restaurant and supermarket to buy basic groceries are available.

Day 3, 4 & 5 Kruger National Park – Satara, Skukuza and Crocodile Bridge Rest Camps
After breakfast, follow the Panorama Route via Hoedspruit to the world famous Kruger National Park. Enter the park at the Orpen Gate and check in at the reception. There is a conservation / entrance fee of R120.00 per person per day, payable at the entrance gate. We also advise that you purchase a detailed map of the Kruger National Park which will give you information and route directions to all the different camps.

Drive from the Orpen Gate to Satara Rest Camp. Spend one night at this campsite on a self-catering basis. Restaurant and supermarket available to buy basic groceries.

On day 4, drive from Satara to Skukuza Rest Camp, approximately 93 kilometres and a 4 hour drive. We suggest you plan a route through the park for the whole day and make a nice “braai” in the afternoon. Make sure you are back at the campsite before gate closing times. Spend the night on day 4 at Skukuza Rest Camp at a campsite on a self-catering basis. Restaurant and supermarket available to buy basic groceries.

Drive on day 5 from Skukuza to Crocodile Bridge Rest Camp, approximately 77 kilometres and a 3 hour drive. Again, plan a route through the park and stop at one of the picnic spots for lunch. We also advise you do morning, afternoon or evening game drives. Please ask at the camp's reception for more information about the game drives. Overnight at Crocodile Bridge Rest Camp at a campsite on a self-catering basis. Supermarket available to buy basic groceries.

Day 6 Maputo – Rovuma Hotel
After breakfast, exit the Kruger National Park at the Crocodile Bridge Gate. Drive on the N4 towards Maputo. The South African border is called the Lebombo border and the Mozambique border is called the Ressano Garcia border. After the border procedures, follow the road to the capital of Mozambique called Maputo.

Overnight at the Pestana Rovuma Hotel in a standard double room on a bed and breakfast basis. Restaurant available for meals. The Rovuma Hotel is situated in the heart of Maputo in front of the atmospheric Old Cathedral. It is a modern and unique city hotel that combines comfort with the buzz of Africa.

Day 7 Bilene – Praia do Sol
180 Kilometres from Maputo lies the village town of Bilene, and Praia do Sol overlooking the San Martino Lake - a lagoon some 15 kilometres long and 4 kilometres wide, that lies alongside the warm Indian Ocean. This sunshine paradise and rustic beach escape is where you will stay on day 7.

Spend one night at Praia do Sol in a two-sleeper chalet on a half board basis. This includes dinner and breakfast.

Day 8, 9 & 10 Inhambane – Guinjata Bay
After breakfast, drive to the province of Inhambane (the land of good people). This is where you will find Guinjata Bay Resort, the pioneer of one of the world's top 10 dive sites, the Manta Reef. With crystal clear waters, flourishing coral reefs and a host of world-class facilities, Guinjata Bay Resort is one of the Indian Ocean coastline's best-kept secrets. Spend 3 nights at Guinjatha Bay's sheltered campsite (inclusive of Baraca) on a self-catering basis. Restaurant, beach bar and shop available to buy basic groceries and souvenirs.

Day 11 Bilene – Praia do Sol
This morning head back towards Bilene. Spend one night at Praia do Sol in a two-sleeper chalet on a half board basis. This includes dinner and breakfast.

Day 12 & 13 Malelane – River Cottage
Today will be your last day in Mozambique. After breakfast, drive towards Maputo and then towards the Mozambique border at Komatipoort. Follow the N4 from Komatipoort to Malelane. River Cottage is situated 1 kilometres north of Malelane on the Southern bank of the Crocodile River overlooking the Kruger National Park. There are frequent sightings of big game from the look out, and the lush riverine bush is a paradise for bird lovers.

Spend two nights at River Cottage in a standard double room on a bed and breakfast basis. Restaurants and supermarkets in the town of Malelane are available for meals and supplies.

Day 14 Johannesburg – Depart
All good things come to an end. After breakfast, drive on the N4 to Johannesburg. Arrive at the KEA Campers Depot in Johannesburg to drop off your 4x4 rental vehicle. A representative of KEA will transfer you to the airport where you will check in for the flight back home.
